Here’s some cause for celebration. A child as young as 11 that had been employed as a soldier by an aspiring terrorist group has managed to escape a life of front-line violence! No more will he be taking hostages, bombing enemy vehicles, or mangling corpses. Instead he will be ordering other children to do all of that.
That’s right. Say what you will about the concept of militia’s arming children and having them do their dirty work, thus adding a layer of guilt for those combatting them, but this one particular militia has shown that upward mobility in the terror industry is alive and well.
The child who began his career in the field of brutality at the tender age of 8, had spent the last three years rising up the ranks in an inspiring fashion. At the moment, he commands a toddler-battalion of 12 and holds absolute control over his street.
“I didn’t like pulling men’s tongues out of their throats. So now I ask my friend to do it. He doesn’t like it either but my knife is bigger than his,” said the child who many have started referring to as the Kid Warlord.
There are however a few questions raised regarding the legitimacy of his title. Obviously there are no official documents. This has led some to argue that owing to their relatively small size – both in terms of number and physique – maybe he is not a war ‘lord’ and merely a war ‘sir’? Others say he has had more than four fully grown adults killed and that’s all they need to be classified as a lord of war.
What comes next for Kid Warlord? The logical next step would be to expand his army and invade their neighboring street.
All of this goes to show that with a little determination, you too can escape a life of having to commit barbarities and instead command others to do so on your behalf!
