“A-are you guys okay? I didn’t actually say it was a trick.”
A man wearing a magician’s hat, cape, and wand announced that he would be sawing a member of his audience in half. A clean split by the sounds of it.
Bear in mind that he had not actually said he was a magician or that no bodily harm would befall any attendees. In fact when he displayed his saw, he presented a sharp device that was sure to slice and dice with minimal resistance.
Asides from his appearance, there was no real indication that what was going to take place was fake in any way.
Essentially, to them he was supposed to be a sociopath who just announced that he would be murdering someone. But with consent. He asked his audience for a volunteer.
Arms shot up from all around the room. Considering they haven’t been informed yet that this was all a trick, they have just offered to be killed in a gruesome fashion.
Why?
Is there a correlation between wanting to die and attending a magic show? Probably. This man’s particular magic show? Well, that sounds depressing for the magician too, now.
Every person in attendance, raising their hand, volunteering. It’s been a tough year but still, this is a bit much.
