Bet you want to know what they said about you.

There have been thousands of books written about combatting insecurity. It’s a shame you’ve not read any of them. Instead, here you are, wondering what everyone else thinks about you. It certainly would help to know for sure, preferably through an extensive survey delving into every facet of your life. Or would that be worse?
Whatever it is, a survey has indeed been sent to one thousand people asking for their opinion of you. That’s right. You. Maybe they have nice things to say. Wouldn’t that be lovely? Maybe they don’t. Maybe they remember all the embarrassing things that you’ve done. Even the little things. Like when your voice cracked during a speech. It was just a second in a five-minute speech, surely everyone has either forgotten about it or never cared. But, maybe they do remember. Maybe it’s the only memory that comes to their mind when your name is brought up. Maybe they refer to you as ‘that person that can’t even talk properly’. Wouldn’t that be awful?
You’re just dying to find out, aren’t you? 1,000 people. Do 1,000 people even know you? Are these impartial jurors whose only knowledge about you stems from cold hard facts relayed to them in a neutral setting? If so, do you think those facts work in your favour? What if, when everything you have ever done is laid out for someone, they just shrug and ask if that’s all there is? A thousand people. All thinking about and judging you. It’s unlikely anyone’s ego would survive a negative review.
Well, I am pleased to inform you that all your concerns can be put to rest. While 60% of the people surveyed had no idea who you are, 35% had vaguely positive things to say about you, while the remaining 5% absolutely adore you. Those are really impressive figures. You can rest easy. Nobody hates you. Unless, of course, I am lying. Can you really trust me? I haven’t shown you the figures directly. And even if I did, who is to say I didn’t rig a number of bots to alter the results because I began pitying you? I could be lying. Guess we will never know.
Are you okay? Are you sure?
